SAMOVAR - Setting up and Exploitation of Ontologies for Capitalising on Vehicle Project Knowledge

This article presents SAMOVAR (Systems Analysis of Modelling and Validation of Renault Automobiles) SAMOVAR is a tool for capitalising knowledge in the field of automobile and is based on the development and exploitation of corporate memory. It is based on several ontologies which structure knowledge and it uses the search mechanisms of CORESE (Conceptual Resource Search Engine) to exploit such ontologies. After describing the origin and the objectives aimed by SAMOVAR, we explain how the core of the tool the set of diverse ontologieswas developed.
